The new romantic vampire’s movie Twilight released with lots of expectations excelled with record collections this weekend.
The collections of the movie started grandly with over $7million in terms of ticket sales for its debut midnight show on 21st. It stood in third place in the list of top movies with advanced high online ticket sales. The preceding are Star Wars-3 and The Dark Knight, according to Fandangos.
And for its opening weekend, the collections reached a peak $70.6 millions from 3,419 theaters nation wide, thus pushing the average collections per theater to $20,636.
It is also recorded as the biggest release for a female director ever. Catherine Hardwicke, the director, could blow off the record of Mimi Leder, the director of Deep Impact of 1998.
Twilight has many more records in its name, but what I have to mention is the movie. It is awesome and must watch.
